West Seattle is located west of downtown, across the Duwamish River, and is often considered the "Sausalito" of Seattle due to its spectacular views of the Seattle skyline. The long sandy beaches of Alki are reminiscent of a California beach town with its vibrant summer lifestyle. Beach cottages, condos and Contemporary Modern homes live along the boardwalk and take in the sweeping views of Puget Sound.

Although Alki is the quintessential West Seattle neighborhood, many others, with their distinct flavors, are found throughout this area and they are full of Classic Modern homes. Arroyo Heights and Fauntlee Hills are mid-century enclaves with Sound views and underground utilities. North Admiral and The Alaska Junction are home to many shops and restaurants and towards the south, the ferry to Vashon Island can be caught at the Fauntleroy Dock.

Along with the Classics, new Contemporary Moderns are intermixed into these neighborhoods along with a hip, young crowd that appreciates the live/work loft concept many developers are building to.

It's also a big, inviting place, with a wealth of flavors and neighborhoods. One of the gems of West Seattle—some would call it a best-kept secret—is the area called The Arroyos. The Arroyos …
