Biography

The partnership of Monica Posada and Laurence Barratt was a natural one. Both Europeans, Monica from Madrid, Laurence from Paris -- they had been immersed in a culture where style, history and design are a way of life.

Laurence grew up and studied in Paris where she pursued a passion for the industrial arts. She and her husband have traveled the world and spent many years living abroad. Finally, she settled here in the great Pacific Northwest and chose Mercer Island along with the Eastside as her home.

Monica has a background in law and her natural negotiation abilities are a complement to Laurence’s sense of design. Together they make an unbeatable team that understands both the marketing and legal nature of real estate.

Monica and Laurence both have a love for Mercer lsland, an area that has a unique connection to Modern Architecture in the Pacific Northwest. Mercer Island has many classic modern homes built by Northwest icons like Paul Hayden Kirk, Ralph Anderson, Wendell Lovett, Roland Terry, and Russell Burton. This tradition continues as some of the foremost architects of today ply their trade, updating these classics while honoring tradition and creating world-class examples of Contemporary Modern.
